{"id":1140,"date":"2017-02-02T20:58:43","date_gmt":"2017-02-03T01:58:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elainecarroll.ca\/wordpress\/?p=1140"},"modified":"2018-01-20T18:24:17","modified_gmt":"2018-01-20T23:24:17","slug":"1140","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elainecarroll.ca\/wordpress\/?p=1140","title":{"rendered":"Biscuits\/Dumplings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mmmmm dumplings&#8230; \u00a0This is a quick recipe that I make either dumplings or biscuits out of.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 c.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/elainecarroll.ca\/wordpress\/?p=1259\" target=\"_blank\">homemade bisquick mix<\/a> (bought stuff would work too)<\/li>\n<li>Milk, about a cup but you&#8217;ll have to use a judgment call<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preparation<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Slowly add milk and mix until it has a doughy consistency (just past crumbly, but be careful not to put too much in to make it thin). Don&#8217;t over mix! Once it&#8217;s combined, stop otherwise, they might not rise well.<\/p>\n<p><em>Biscuits<\/em>: Preheat oven to 350F. Drop batter by the tablespoon on a greased cookie sheet and bake for about 18 minutes (depending on how hot your oven runs and altitude).<\/p>\n<p><em>Dumplings<\/em>: Drop batter by the tablespoon into gently boiling chicken broth (or whatever broth you prefer) and cover. Don&#8217;t overfill the pot, don&#8217;t pile them on top of each other either. Let them boil gently for about 20 minutes and eat hot. They should be nice and fluffy. It will likely make a nice gravy in the broth that&#8217;s remaining.
