{"id":1318,"date":"2019-07-10T12:36:52","date_gmt":"2019-07-10T17:36:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elainecarroll.ca\/wordpress\/?p=1318"},"modified":"2019-07-10T12:36:52","modified_gmt":"2019-07-10T17:36:52","slug":"beer-balls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elainecarroll.ca\/wordpress\/?p=1318","title":{"rendered":"Beer Balls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I had all this Garden Cocktail my uncle gave me that was past it&#8217;s best before date that I wanted to get used up.\u00a0 Besides making cream of tomato soup (with soup mix legume\/grain mix), I thought I&#8217;d try making some kind of beer ball dish.\u00a0 What I came up with is actually quite good.\u00a0 My uncle had brought down a pack of medium ground beef so I put my thinking cap on.\u00a0 You could use lean or extra lean, but you might want to consider adding more eggs to hold it all together.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Meatballs<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>about 1 tbsp. bacon grease (use whatever oil you want, I don&#8217;t want to hear about bacon grease being unhealthy, it adds good taste)<\/li>\n<li>500 g. medium ground beef<\/li>\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\n<li>1\/2\u00a0tube of soda biscuit, finely crushed (by hand is good enough)<\/li>\n<li>a pinch of\u00a0salt<\/li>\n<li>a pinch of pepper<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 small onion, diced<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Optional<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 large onion, diced or thinly sliced (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sauce<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>about 2 c. Garden Cocktail<\/li>\n<li>the better half of a beer (I wanted to get Beck&#8217;s non-alcohol beer used up, it worked well)<\/li>\n<li>about 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 c.
