{"id":543,"date":"2010-12-28T18:25:39","date_gmt":"2010-12-28T23:25:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/elainecarroll.ca\/wordpress\/?p=543"},"modified":"2010-12-28T18:25:39","modified_gmt":"2010-12-28T23:25:39","slug":"clean-eatings-fig-squares","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elainecarroll.ca\/wordpress\/?p=543","title":{"rendered":"Clean Eating&#8217;s Fig Squares"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I got this recipe from Clean Eating and it looks delicious.\u00a0 I haven&#8217;t tried it yet, but will at some point.<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<p>Filling:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8 oz. dried figs<\/li>\n<li>4 oz. pitted dates<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp pure maple extract<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 Stevia powder (optional)<\/li>\n<li>3 tbsp water<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp fresh lemon juice<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp ground cinnammon<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 tsp ground ginger<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Crust:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 c. oats<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 c. vanilla protein powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 c wheat bran<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 oat bran<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp baking powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp sea salt (optional)<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp Stevia powder or to taste<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 c. unsweetened applesauce<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c plus 3 tbsp water<\/li>\n<li>Olive oil cooking spray<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preparation:<\/p>\n<p>Snip stems off figs.\u00a0 Place figs and dates into a food processor and grind to a coarse paste.\u00a0 Add remaining filling ingredients and process until combined.\u00a0 Set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.<\/p>\n<p>Combine dry crust ingredients in a mixing bowl.\u00a0 Stir in applesauce and water, mixing to a thick consistency.\u00a0 Press half of crust mixture into the bottom of an 8&#8243; square pan misted with cooking spray.<\/p>\n<p>Spread fig filling evenly over crust.\u00a0 Smooth remaining half of crust mixture over filling.\u00a0 Bake until lightly browned, about 15 min.\u00a0 Let cool completely before cutting into 16 squares (108 calories per square).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I got this recipe from Clean Eating and it looks delicious.\u00a0 I haven&#8217;t tried it yet, but will at some point.
